👥 💬 How to be an Effective Communication Partner: Online Training Sessions 👥 💬
When: Saturday 12th October; 10:00 - 14:00 (BST) AND Saturday 9th November; 10:00 - 14:00 (GMT)
Where: On Zoom, link will be sent via email after sign-up
Effective communication isn’t all about how the person with Rett syndrome (or other complex communication needs) communicates. It isn’t all about eye gaze technology either. It’s about how you as a Communication Partner think and act, and the things you can do without any technology!
Over two sessions, two of our Regional Communication Champions will take you through ideas and activities for developing your own skills as a Communication Partner. This will include things like modelling and partner-assisted scanning.
A selection of low-tech resources will be posted to you in the week before the first session.
This session is suitable for parents, family and carers of, and those who professionally support people with Rett syndrome of all ages, from toddler to adult, and is a pre-requisite for any family considering joining our device loan programme.
🚨 Please note you must attend BOTH sessions of this training. You cannot attend one without the other 🚨
