We are the only UK charity that provides professional support to people living with Rett syndrome across the UK. Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorder affecting mainly females.

Why become a Rett UK trustee?

If you become a Rett UK trustee you’ll be guiding a charity that’s focused on supporting people with Rett syndrome across the UK.

You’ll be part of a trustee team with a vast amount of personal and professional experience across a whole range of fields, including charity, business, finance and education. You’ll be warmly welcomed, participate fully in the governance of our charity and all that entails, and be supported to develop your skills.

Who we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from you no matter your professional experience, or whether you’re an experienced trustee or have never been one. It’s just important that you’re passionate about creating a fair and equal society for people with Rett syndrome and can embody our vision – ‘That everyone with Rett syndrome is given every possible opportunity to achieve their individual potential so that they may live their life to the full.’

We want to recruit more trustees and are particularly interested in applications from the diverse range of people we are here to help, including those from minoritised backgrounds. We are also particularly interested in people who have skills and experience in any of the following: charities; fundraising; education; disabilities and bids & grant funding

Time commitment

There are eight trustee meetings a year – six Board meetings.

Your initial trustee commitment would be two years.
