UK - NETHERLANDS BIKE RIDE 4th – 5th September 2010
Organised by Bob Sykes and supported by Rett UK & Rett NL, the UK to Netherlands Ride for Rett Syndrome is a sponsored cycle hoping to attract a large number of cyclists – both from the UK and the Netherlands to raise awareness of Rett syndrome nationally and internationally. 50 UK cyclists and 50 Dutch cyclists will link the 2 associations as well as raise awareness and funds for both associations. The 100-strong team will be formed as follows: • 40 UK local participants who will do the local UK ride only • 10 UK international participants will take part in the complete ride • 40 NL local participants who will do the local NL ride only • 10 NL international participants will take part in the complete ride The event is being organised to generate much needed media attention as well as raise public awareness and funds, therefore there is no fee to join. However we hope our cyclists will endeavour to raise as much sponsorship money as possible and as a guide, previous cyclists for a UK cycling event have raised over £800 - £900 each! Cyclists will be given sponsor forms and guidance packs as well support along the route.
