We are very grateful to BBC Children in Need for funding our transition support co-ordinator's post.  This means that we are able to advocate and support individuals with Rett syndrome and their families to ensure the best possible outcomes for their needs.

For more information about the transition support we offer please contact Iram Murtaza on 07971 050978 or email her here.

From childhood to adulthood

The transition - or change,  from childrens to adults services can be a daunting time for families.  It brings with it a whole new team of professionals and forces you to leave behind those you may have been working with for the majority of your childs life.

Rett UK employs a dedicated Transition Support Coordinator to guide you through this process.  Your children will move to adult services at around 18 or 19 years of age, but we can help you to start planning this process from 14 onwards.  We can offer support in a host of areas including education, benefits, housing and social services.  We can also help you to set up a Circle of Support for your son or daughter.  Read more about Circles of Support (sometimes called a Circle of Friends) here.
